Leandra Keahi-Bevans has been CrossFitting for four years and specializes in “head-case athletes— those folks who believe they are incapable of achieving fitness goals because of weight, injury, age, or some other limitation.” She’s most passionate about ensuring that everyone understands not only the importance of strength and fitness, but that it is attainable regardless of circumstance.

Leandra loves everything about coaching. “From being in a positive, supportive, energetic group, to watching people get excited when they achieve a skill or fitness level they’ve worked hard to achieve, to seeing the lives of those who doubted their ability(ies) change their lives—I love all of it.”

A varsity athlete in high school, Leandra only maintained fitness as a means of quality of life—until a criminal event changed her life forever. “I was the victim of a criminal event that left my body, mind, and spirit broken for over 10 years,” she says. “During that time, I was diagnosed with PTSD and severe depression, among other things, and gained over 100 pounds. My son introduced me to CrossFit, which included not only classes, but eating a Paleo diet. Within the year, I had lost almost 100 pounds. The transformation was not only physical but psychological and literally changed who I am. I became so thankful for my life and my health and quality of life, that I decided to bring that to as many people as I can.”

A “what you see is what you get” kind of person, Leandra’s favorite quote is from Vince Lombardi: “We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible.”
