Candy came to our old location off Ruthraff in January of 2012.
She has motivated everyone who walks through our door.
Candy has no “stop”. She will finish a workout no matter how hard it is.
My favorite part of coaching Candy is at the end of a particularly hard workout I will go over to high five her and she will give me a few expletives in her sweet little voice. 😂
ANY FAMILY YOU WANT TO BRAG ABOUT?
Hmmm… a tough choice between my cats or my husband (Rob) but I’ll go with husband. Whatever crazy-ass ideas I come up with, Rob is always agreeable, without too much complaining. However, it did take nine years to convince Rob to join CrossFit and he is leaving me in the dust.
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR FUN WHEN YOU'RE NOT IN THE GYM?
Travel, travel, travel and the great Tucson hiking. Crossfit keeps me in the best condition for both.
For her 60th Birthday Candy went to Chicago and did The Rock ‘N Roll Half Marathon.. one of many she has completed!
what is your crossfit goal?
At 65, my goals aren’t quite as aggressive as ten years ago. Top goal is to listen to my body to avoid any injuries. Then 4-5 classes per week with all in effort to keep me strong and in good cardio condition that allows me to enjoy the lifestyle I want.
How did you hear about CrossFit Now?
Not to long after we moved to Tucson I saw a Groupon Offer. I had never heard of CrossFit and had no idea what It was. The Deal description was the clencher for signing up. I still occasionally reread it.
Of course, Deadlifts, not overly technical!
LEAST FaVORITE MOVEMENT
Any move that contains the word ‘Snatch’.
Something we don’t know about you…
It’s been almost ten years at CrossFit Now …you know everything!
FAVORITE crossfit now memory
Oh my gosh, with so many fun times and great people, it is impossible to narrow down to one favorite. But one memory that often pops into my brain is after my 30 day Groupon pass ended, instead of purchasing a monthly membership I purchased like a 20 day punch card. In the past I never committed to a gym and was sure this would be the same…..and here I am almost ten years later!
After 10 years at CrossFit Now .. you know everything!
Advice you would give someone wanting to try CrossFit?
DO IT… don’t be intimidated. Crossfit is for all fitness levels and everything can be modified. The camaraderie will keep you coming back.
Anything else you would like to share?
- So appreciative of the Moseleys for the welcoming fun gym they have created and their dedication to helping so many of us improve our quality of life. The people I’ve met, stories I’ve heard and most importantly the relationships I’ve developed have enhanced my life ten fold. I actually get emotional when I reflect on my CrossFit experience.
