Michael Moseley

Owner/Coach

Michael is an Owner/Coach, and Programmer at CrossFit Now. He’s also a lifetime athlete who’s competed in football, bodybuilding, mixed martial arts, and of course, CrossFit. Michael began training in 2008 and has built an impressive resume that includes winning the 2013 CrossFit Games Masters 40-44 Division.

Jennifer is an Owner and Coach at CrossFit Now with nearly a decade of experience. Introduced by her husband, she started training in their garage before joining an affiliate in 2009. “I was skeptical at first. I was never into sports and the thought of lifting weights scared me. But once I realized I could scale each workout, I became much more comfortable.”

After several months of diet and exercise, Jennifer lost 25 pounds and gained some serious muscle! Her success proves you can do anything you set your mind to. That’s why for Jennifer, “Working with our members and seeing them achieve the “impossible” is the BEST feeling.”

    Emily Howard

    Emily Howard

    Head Coach

    Emily is a Coach at CrossFit Now whose athletic background includes swimming and track. She started as a member and after three eventful years transitioned to coach. Emily specializes in endurance and gymnastics movements. She also thrives in large group settings and enjoys working with beginner level athletes. “I am very passionate about helping beginners on their CrossFit journey. I don’t believe in taking shortcuts. I believe in hard work, proper technique, and building a solid foundation.”

    Christopher is a Coach at CrossFit Now who grew up playing a variety of sports. From basketball and volleyball to shotput and discus throw, he’s done it all. As an adult, Christopher started CrossFit and became one of its biggest supporters. He was so passionate about training that he jumped at the opportunity to coach. At CrossFit Now, Christopher specializes in basic barbell and CrossFit movements. He loves working with newcomers and easing their fears as they enter our Basics and Prep programs.

    Matthew Burroughs has been a CrossFitter for five years, and is passionate about his dog and living life to the fullest. “I love coaching my members here, because everyone comes in with a smile and is always ready to learn and train,” he says. “I remember when I started doing CrossFit—it was just show up, do the workout, and leave—but that has changed so much since then,” he says.
    Matt has played sports all his life, from baseball to football, and finally to becoming a pole vaulter and cross-country runner. “I now play ice hockey, as well as coach youth members in Arizona for ice hockey. I just love being active,” he says.

    His coaching journey began when he received his Level 1 about a year ago. “Davis Monthan Air Force base was looking for coaches to volunteer their time to coach on base at CrossFit Desert Lighting,” he explains. “I jumped when I heard that, so I could start getting experience in coaching.”

    rui motoyoshiCoach Oscar came from a wrestling background.  He loves hard work and going after his goals.

    “I joined CrossFit to do just that. I wanted to drop weight stay fit and get back to being healthy. With CrossFit I achieved all that and continue to grow.”

    He became a coach to be able to offer and share his experiences with the many people ready to take on change.

    Coach Rui has been a weightlifter and a CrossFitter for over 7 years. She loves the challenge of learning and refining movements of both sports. As someone who struggled to stay consistent with going to the gym in the past, she understands the importance of a strong gym community and supportive friends who push you when need it the most. Her favorite aspect of coaching is finding ways to modify movements so that athletes of all levels can get the most out of their workout.

    ZACH HAMMER

    ZACH HAMMER

    Coach Zach’s background includes more than 10 years of competitive ice hockey experience up to the college-level, and six years as a tactical athlete. Zach found CrossFit while a member of the Navy Special Operations community, where he developed an interest in the capabilities of the human body as well as the mind. When combined into a singular focus, he believes that the limits of our achievements disappear. His commitment to inspire holistic wellness in others begins with the sharing of knowledge. Two major focus points of his coaching style include NUTRITION and VIRTUOSITY. He believes that nutrition should be the primary focus of every athlete, and that performing the common, uncommonly well begins by mastering the basics of any movement. Zach is currently pursuing his B.S. in Neuroscience at the University of Arizona with aspirations of attending medical school to further improve the lives of our community.

    Coach Michael has been doing CrossFit for about 3 years. He love to Olympic lift as well as several other hobbies such as autocross, rock climbing, and mountain biking.
    Growing up he came from a big wrestling family, so naturally his background in sports is all from wrestling. His passion is helping others find the benefits of CrossFit.

    Coach Ryan has been doing CrossFit, Olympic weightlifting and Powerlifting for over 10 years. He started doing CrossFit in 2013, after going to support a friend compete at Regionals. He saw firsthand the CrossFit community, support each other on the biggest stage. His favorite thing about coaching is seeing someone accomplish something they thought was impossible, through hard work and dedication.
